Iolite, also known as “water sapphire” and the “Viking’s compass”, Iolite is a unique stone known for enhancing vision. This crystal is a light polarizer, and was used by Vikings to navigate when the sun was hidden by the clouds. It was used to locate the sun, even when overcast. 

Iolite is known for helping sailors navigate their way home, and thus can be used to avoid getting lost – both literally and spiritually.

Iolite is also a stone of intuition and prophetic abilities, aiding in clear visions and dreams, as well as protection during astral travel. For this reason, it is associated with the Third Eye chakra, which governs intuition.
